Jesse Hubbard Jr. was born on December 3rd, 1956 in Chicago Illinois.  He was the third of six children, and the only male child, and he often reminded his sisters of the Biblical implication regarding this fact. (The male inherits all, and therefore is in charge.) He also considered being the only male a “Coup”, because he was always guaranteed a bedroom alone.

Jesse began his Elementary education at Ulysses S. Grant Elementary, and completed it at Ryerson. He went on to attend Rezin Orr High School, where he was an adamant sportsman,co-captaining both Football and wrestling teams (he was a beast).  He later attended Kennedy King College. 

During this time Jesse married and from that marriage was born two beautiful children - daughter Tabia Hubbard and son Jamal Hubbard.

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Union Baptist Missionary Church, where he sang in the youth choir, under the leadership of Reverend James Moore.   After moving to Rockford he joined My Father’s House of Worship, under the leadership of Pastor Elijah Cooper, where he taught Bible Class, and on occasion, ministered to the congregation; not only via the word of God, but also through his fantastic baking skills, which he often blessed the congregation with.

On November 24, 2017 Jesse made his transition into eternity.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Hubbard Sr.

He leaves to cherish warm and affectionate memories:  His loving mother, Hattie Hubbard; two children, Tabia Hubbard and Jamal Hubbard, one grandson Jaylan; five sisters, Katie M. Jones, Vanessa (Benton ‘deceased’) Robinson, Kim (Timothy) Bolhar, Renae Hubbard, and Verdie L. Hubbard, two aunts; Katie Mae Keys and Loree (Clarence) Hubbard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

“Although faced with many trials, “he has overcome them all.”
