Wanda Nowling

Wanda Antoinette Nowling affectionately known as “Toni” and “Tone Tone” 79, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday July 10, 2021. Wanda was born December 14, 1941 to Mr and Mrs Stokey Stephens. She attended West High School In Rockford. On August 28, 1965 she married Louis Nowling Sr and they brought 3 boys into the world. She attended Pilgrim Baptist Church.  She happily worked as a child care provider to many children before taking a job at Counselor Scale from where she eventually retired. She was famous for doing the hair of every girl in the family with her heavy hands, and loved every minute of it. Happiest around her family and in the kitchen making her famous potato salad, she spent her days loving on her grandchildren. Whether she did your hair, fixed you a plate, or gave you a hug, she touched the lives of everyone around her and her loss is heavily felt by many.

Predeceased by her parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters, husband Louis Nowling Sr and son Louis Nowling Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories sons Patrick (Tiffany) Nowling, Jarrod (Nikki) Nowling, daughter Almernette (Willie James) Seals, god-daughter Deanna LeShoure, brother Richard Stephens, sister Jewel Love, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
