Troy , Bernard Simmons of ROCKFORD Illinois departed this life November 7, 2023, he was born March 25, 1961 to Roda Ann Elizabeth Gary and Linzie Simmons.
Troy shared many years in marriage to Lydia Osorio Breedlove after their divorce, he was in a relationship with Loretta Bell. Troy loved spending time with family and friends. He loved music and singing. He began singing at a young age. He sang with the church Angel choir at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church - then as a lead singer for the gospel quartet " Sacred Singers" at age 8. Troy sung for numerous church events around the Rockford Community, and surrounding areas. Later in life, he became a member of Remnant International Deliverance and Outreach Ministries Remnant Fellowship Church where he served as a minister of music. He was privileged to share in worship and fellowship with Bishop Betty Barlow of Mt Goshen Full Gospel Baptist Church, of whom he was truly fond.
Troy is survived by his aunt, Della House of St. Louis, Missouri and aunt, Ruby Williams of Rockford; three brothers, Curtis (Amy) Simmons, Otis Simmons Sr., and Willie Hart; three sisters, Danielle Simmons, Mattie Butler, and Diane Hart all of Rockford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Tiffany Bell, Calvin, Deidra (Baby) Coble, Jean Herron, Larry Parks and cousin Dwayne Buchanan; special friends Geet, Pete and Skeet.
He is preceded in death by both parents, and grandparents, Iola Nevels Gary and William Gary; along with two brothers, Ollie King Jr., and Billy Simmons; three sisters, Barbara Murray, Linda Jean Fricks, and Lynnell Simmons.
