Terry Harrington Grayned, 60 Loving Husband and Father
Departed this life on Saturday August 1st, 2020 in Chicago at Loyola Medical University with his daughters, by his side after fighting stage 4 lung cancer born November 2nd,1959 in Rockford, Illinois at Rockford Memorial Hospital to John Paul Harrington and Barbara Grayned Triplett.
Terry graduated from West High School in 1977; married the love of his life Betty Rocket in 1981 he was employed for many years at Harder Sign Company, Muller Pinehurts, and Gunite he also had an upholstery shop with his Father, Johnny Be Good and a hauling business with his Grandfather, John Henry Grayned Sr.
Terry was always willing to give a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Terry was well known and very respected he left a mark on his community; he was a father figure to many “Dad” is what everyone called him he impacted a lot of lives; he was the 2nd oldest grandchild who carried his life as the patriarch of the family it meant everything to him; he was so handy with his hands and very creative the life of the party; he loved music and loved to dance he would tear up any dance floor he was such a sharp classy dresser he stayed fresh from his hat all the way down to his shoes his loud strong voice carried through any room.
Terry gave his life to the lord July 18, 1981 and was a faithful servant to The Church of Christ until death, he also was a strong believer on family values and putting God first he leaves to cherish his memory Daughters, Tierra and Bianca Harrington, Willquil and Janea Flemming; Sisters, Johnene Richardson, Sheila Triplett, Debra Triplett, Michelle Triplett, and Sandy Triplett; Brother, Paul Stokes; GrandDaughters Tearri Sherod and Jai’Moni Pearson; Grandsons, Jason and Jayden Gagliano and Christian Turner a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins; Favorite Aunt, Denise McAllister; Special friend for many years Debra Thompson.
Predeceased by his Wife, Betty Rockett Grayned; Maternal Grandparents, John Henry Grayned Sr and Nehemiah Grayned; Paternal Grandparents, Allen Harrington Sr and Vinnie Harrington; his Mother, Barbara Grayned Triplett and Father, John Paul Harrington; Sister, Carolyn Brewer; Grandson,Tashawnbe Lottie Jr. and Nephew, Jowayne Richardson Special thanks to Mercy Health Radiology and Oncology department Dr. Richards, Nurse Taylor, Nurse Kelsie, Nurse Kim, and Nurse Karen Special recognition to Angela Mascharka the Cancer and Hematology Social Worker also Dr. Collins and staff at Loyola Medical University.
