Steve L. Yarbrough departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the age of 56. Born July 21, 1966 in Rockford, Illinois, Steve attended Rockford Public Schools, was a proud 1984 graduate of Auburn High School, and was employed for ten years at Woodward Governor before relocating to Fort Worth, Texas. While in Texas, Steve attended trade school for duct fabrication and earned various professional certifications while advancing in management at L&L Fabrication.
Steve’s focus and drive to make his mark in the fabrication industry would be the makings of a very rewarding career. His pursuit to share his knowledge and become a successful leader led him to teach engineering classes at the University of Dallas while owning and operating his own business, On The Spot Mobile Detailing company. In addition to his professional success, Steve was a man renown for his strong work ethic, passion, and unmatched sense of humor. Gifted in putting a smile on your face no matter the circumstance, he could make a joke out of anything and brightening the cloudiest day because he knew the sun would shine tomorrow.
Steve is proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rual Yarbrough, uncles Leroy and Kenneth Yarbrough.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Shankell (Lorena) Chappel, son, Stevay Yarbrough, step-son, Tramaine Davenport, mother, Ann Thompson-Kelly, step-father, Paul Kelly, maternal grand-mother, Marie Yarbrough, sister, Andrea Cates, grandchildren, Aubrielle, SteVay Jr, Stevie’ion and Seveen Yarbrough, nieces, Ashley Anderson and Kinnady Cates and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
