Ruth Royal Lewis
Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Lewis departed this earthly on February 16, 2022 she was born July 30, 1923 in Eudora, Arkansas to Elnora and George Royal. Ruth was baptized at an early age in Kansas City, Mo., she graduated from Lincoln College now known as Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.; Ruth later moved to Rockford and attended Rockford University. Ruth was employed by Roper Stove and later retired from the Rockford Board of Education. Ruth was united in marriage to Willie X Lewis in 1954.
Ruth Lewis leaves to cherish her loving memories two special nieces, Dr. Lela Cartwright of Olathe, KS and Elaine T. Bossell and Jenae Perkins of Kansas City, Mo and a host of cousins. Special thanks to her church family New Zion Baptist Church Family under the leadership of Rev. K Edward Copeland and her caretaker Ida Dandridge; and lifetime neighbor special friends, Clarice and Minister Steve Posley.
Predeceased by both parents; one brother, Madison Royal; one sister, Bessie Royal Kind.
