Rozene Collins

Rozene Collins, 83, of Rockford, IL gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the care of her son and daughter in law. 

She was born on February 3, 1939, in Sallis, MS as the oldest of 11 children born to Henry and Rosie Howard. She attended Sallis High School where she graduated in 1957.

In 1958 Rozene married JW (Joseph) Anderson and migrated to multiple cities before settling in Rockford, IL in 1966. Rozene later married Emmett Collins in 1991 and united in love until his passing in November of 2021. She carried her spirit of a giant while employed at Green Giant, making many friends before retiring after 35 years of service in 2001. 

Most known for her angelic spirit, she leaves to cherish her memories; son Douglas (Gail) Anderson, stepdaughters, Gwendolyn and Jacqueline Collins of Rockford, IL, daughter in law Tamara Collins of Granger, IN; Sisters Ruthelma Bruce, LueVelma Frazier of Waterloo, IA, Essie Parham of Sallis, MS, and Earlie Howard of Rockford, IL. 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her son Joseph Vondale Anderson, husband, parents, 2 sisters, and 4brothers. 

Service will be held at 12pm on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Hope Fellowship of Rockford, 1135 E. State St, Rockford, IL 61104. Visitation hours 10am – 12pm.
