Rosie Bell Mathis

Rosie Bell Mathis departed this earthy life on November 26, 2023. She was born February 1, 1940 to Cage and Rosie Bell Williams. 

On June 6, 1960 Rosie united, in holy matrimony, to the love of her life Charles Henry Mathis; this union provided seven children and lasted 46 years before he preceded her in death. 

Rosie worked as a CNA for many years.  Later she became a private caregiver and they became like family. Rosie enjoyed cooking, gardening and listening to music. She was also known to do a little dancing. Rosie was a loving, very giving and passionate person.  She would go to war for those she loved, and that included friends and neighbors. 

Rosie leaves to cherish her precious memories five daughters, Bobbie Williams, Mary McFadden, Tina Mathis, Tammy (Anthony) Lloyd and Clairine (Robert) Smith; two sons, Charles Mathis Jr., and Douglas Mathis; two sisters, Henrietta Martin, and Dorothy Williams and one brother, Charles Henry Williams Jr., She had 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. 

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Charles Henry Mathis; parents Cage and Rosie Bell Williams; six brothers and three sisters.
