Robert Earl Fletcher departed this earthly life on January 1, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1972, to Carl and Leeoniar Fletcher in Rockford, Illinois.
Robert spent his childhood in Orton Keys and attended Rock River Elementary School, where he formed many lifelong friendships that remained dear to him throughout his life. He continued his education at Rockford East High School, where he was a member of the basketball team. His love for sports extended beyond the court, as he was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
A caring and dedicated paraprofessional, Robert served students at Rolling Green Elementary School and contributed faithfully to the community through his work at The Gateway Community Center for many years. He was deeply respected by colleagues for his compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the children he served.
Robert is survived by his loving mother, Leeoniar Fletcher; his fiancée, Latonia Purifoy; three brothers, Floyd Fletcher, Sr. (Erica), Leonard Fletcher, and James Fletcher; three children, Justin Collins, Devon Keys, and Zamora Rodriguez; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
He will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, gentle spirit, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he encountered.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Carl Fletcher.
A public viewing will be held at Collins & Stone Funeral Home, Inc. on January 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
Robert’s legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
