Regina Donata Hubbard-Barmore, 70, of Rockford, Illinois, departed this earthly life on November 20, 2024. She was born on July 1, 1954, in Rockford, Illinois, to Robert L. Washington and Shirley H. Hubbard-Smith.
At an early age, Regina accepted Christ and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a faith she shared with her grandmother, the late Janie Lee Hubbard, who helped raise her.
As a young woman, Regina had a love for poetry, fashion, and beauty, and was often invited to pursue modeling opportunities. Known for her intelligence, charm, and many talents, Regina had a passion for homemaking, always keeping a spotless home and excelling as a cook and baker. Her cakes and cookies, which she often sold, were widely admired. Regina was outgoing, talkative, and never met a stranger. Her laughter and joyful personality brought happiness to those around her.
Regina shared a close bond with her brother/uncle, Phillip D. Hubbard, with whom she grew up like twins, being only months apart in age.
Regina attended Rockford West High School and Rockford East High School, later earning her GED.
She was married twice, first to James W. Paschal Sr. (Christine Bowden-Paschal), with whom she had two sons, James Elliott Paschal and Jerry Antoine Paschal. She later married William G. Barmore Sr., becoming a stepmother to George Morrell Barmore Sr. She was also predeceased by her beloved fiancé, Wayne Edgren, whom she loved dearly.
Regina is survived by her loving family, including her sister Tamara L. Chandler-Watkins (Darnell Watkins), brother/uncle Phillip D. Hubbard, stepmother Tamarra Washington, and brother Darby (Karena) Washington.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Damarceo M. Paschal, Reality Paschal, Vanessa Taylor, Cassanova Hoover-Paschal, DA’Aario Paschal, Jerry Antoine Paschal Jr., De’Avontay Jerron Paschal, and Milik Antwone Paschal. Regina was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and a new great-granddaughter on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, and two sons, James Elliott Paschal and Jerry Antoine Paschal Sr.
Regina’s vibrant spirit, love, and kindness will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
