Paul A. Freeman

Paul A. Freeman aka Getty, 67, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on March 26, 2025, at Swedish American Hospital.

Paul was born on January 18, 1958, in Rockford, Illinois, to Andrew M. Freeman and Viola Hill. He attended Auburn High School and spent his life in a loving, committed relationship with Brenda Smith.

Paul was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed football, basketball, and boxing. He was known for his generous spirit and kind heart, always willing to help those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sisters, a great-nephew, and three nieces.

Paul is survived by his brothers Larry Hill of Austin, Texas; Andrew (Adriane) Freeman, Nathan Freeman all of Rockford, Mark Freeman of Detroit, Michigan, and Dewayne (Antionette) Freeman; He also leaves behind his sisters, Georgia (Dennis) Cotten, Sylvia (Robert)Dean, Desaktra Harold of St. Louis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A special cousin, Bernice Austin, also mourns his passing.

Paul’s legacy of kindness and love will be cherished by all who knew him.
