Oper Jean Foreman (Purifoy), was born August 14, 1947 in Camden, Arkansas to Deacon Donnie and Annie Mae Foreman. She came to Rockford, Illinois with her parents that same year.
She worked several manufacturing jobs over the years until she was able to retire and pursue her love of taking care of children. She cared for numerous children for many years.
She was a faithful member of The Israel of God’s Church, W.H.A. She loved to travel with the Church and fellowship with the brothers and sisters across the connection.
Oper showed her love for others through birthday cards and baking. If she knew your birthday, you could count on receiving a card from her every year. She also loved to bake and was known for her banana bread, egg pies, sweet potato pies, and flavoured rice krispie treats.
Oper departed this life February 15, 2019 after a long illness. Oper was preceded in death by her father Deacon Donnie Foreman, her mother Annie Mae Foreman, her brother Ernest Foreman, and her husband John L. Purifoy.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Timothy (Wanwipa) Purifoy, Corey (Dana) Purifoy, John (Tammy) Purifoy, Tabitha Ann Sims, and Lewis Sims. Her siblings; Lorrine (Clifton) Sims, Archie (Willie) Hughes, Ruby Foreman, Donnie Foreman Jr., Elijah (Denneice) Foreman, Queen (James) McMiller, Mary Foreman, Joshua Foreman, Cindy (Raymond) Williams, Johnnie (Valleyun) Foreman, and Vonda Foreman, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
