Namon Scott Sr was born to the late Naomii and Brazz Scott in Camden, Arkansas. He migrated to Rockford from Arkansas in 1968, where he worked for Chrysler for 40 years. He had an extraordinary work ethic. He arrived early and never missed a day. He loved his family and he was proud of being a SCOTT. He demonstrated his love by sharing what he had with family and others. After retiring, he started his own business, mowing lawns. He kept his lawn, his neighbors and family lawns immaculate.
He leaves to mourn two sons, Patrice (Sam) Tanzy of Houston, Texas; Namon Scott Jr of South Carolina; one daughter, Shonae Williams; grandchildren, Trey Tanzy Jr, Alexander Weathers, Rozion Baker, Nicolas Williams; and a host of great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Coleman of Rockford, IL; one brother, Hilton Scott of Jackson, Michigan; three sister-in-laws, Emma, Betty, and Sharon Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Corine, Edna, Rochelle, Shirley; four brothers, Brazz Jr, Milton, John, and Michael Wayne.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Collins & Stone Funeral Home 128 S 5th St; Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Collins & Stone Funeral Home.
