Melvin Melton Kennedy 1955-2020

Melvin Kennedy, 65 of Rockford, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather went to heaven December 15, 2020 after a short illness. He was born July 14, 1955 in PassChristian, MS. The son of Audrey and Maebelle Kennedy. He graduated in 1974 from Evanston Township High School, Evanston, IL.

He was employed by SBM Management Services and attended Hope Fellowship Church of Rockford where he served and took pride in serving as an usher.

Melvin will be loved and missed by his wife, Deanna (Clark)Kennedy; Daughters, La Tasha Kennedy, Shalina Kennedyand Stepdaughters; Brandy Clark and Brenty Clark. His son’s; Melvin Kennedy Jr. and Maurice Kennedy, His sisters; Melvina (Kennedy) George and Deborah (Kennedy) Carr; Brothers; Horace Kennedy, Peter (Gwendolyn) Carr, Kevin(Joanne) Kennedy and 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Benjamin Kennedy, Kirk (Elizabeth)Kennedy, and James Kennedy.
