Mayrene Anderson

Mayrene Anderson, 80, was born on January 6th, 1942 in Sallis, Ms to Rosie Lee & Henry Howard. she decended to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 26th,2022 after a sudden illness at OSF St. Anthony Hospital.

She attended long creek school in Sallis, Ms and professed her faith in the lord at an early age, singing Melodie’s of praise with her angelic voice, touching many hearts. After giving birth to her first born, she moved to Waterloo, Iowa where they ram a laundromat on 4th St. for many years before relocating to Rockford, Il in 1969. She was employed at Dynacorp Inc. As a labor technician for more than 25 years before retiring in 2007. A dedicated, devoted member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church serving the senior & mass choirs, also being a Sunday School Teacher.

Her precious memories will forever be cherished by her children; Johnny “Wade” Anderson, David Anderson, Joe Floyd Anderson, all of Rockford. Daughter; Jackie Henry of Mississippi. Sisters; Earlie Howard, of Rockford, IL: Ruthelma Bruce, Luvelma Frazier all of Waterloo, Iowa. Essie Parham of Sallis, MS. 10 Grandchildren; Terrance, Tyjuan, Shirella, Vaneca, Penitra, Sammy(Jr.), TaQuonda, David (Jr.) Anderson. Natika Davis, Deborah (Peaches) Davis; 35 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; God-Daughter Carnett O’Neal; God-Son Antwan Banks.

Predeceased by parents, one son; Sammy Anderson, one daughter; Mary Joyce Anderson. Four brothers; Floyd Howard, of Waterloo, Iowa, James Will Howard, Ray Charles Howard, Frank Howard- all of Rockford. Two sisters; Janie Howard and Rozene Collins of Rockford, IL. One Great-Grandson Rahshid Malik Anderson.

Mayrene is now at peace, as she would always say “To be absent from the body is to be present with the lord”
