Obituary

Maxine Leavy , 58, of Rockford,Il departed this earthly life October 6th, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Maxine was born September 19,1964 to Dale Eason and Loubirda Leavy.

Maxine attended Guilford High School, yet obtained her diploma a year early from Martin House. After High School, she pursued her passion of servicing youth by working for The Mill for many years. She also committed many years of working and volunteering with the Rockford Park District. Maxine had many talents and hobbies including softball, volleyball, basketball, cooking and her favorite was dancing to music.Maxine joined Community Baptist Church in 2016 where she remained a faithful member.

Maxine leaves to cherish many loving memories; three sons; Jesse Leavy, Quinten and Latre Sowell, seven grandchildren; J’siah, J’Khai, J’Kobe, Isaiah, A’ariah, Camilla and Isaiah; nine sisters: Alberta Collins, Roberta Leavy, Lori (Greg)Carter, Sarah Leavy, Kim (Frank) Richards, Sheila (Philip) Barrie, Linda Eason, Glenda Eason and Brenda Eason, three brothers: Lewis Leavy, Darnell Leavy and James Eason.

Maxine was predeceased by both parents, brothers: Willie, Earl and Victor Leavy, Lyndell, Lonnie, Roy, Coy and Lewis Eason, as well as both Maternal and Paternal grandparents.
