Life of Lucy Mae Taylor
On March 10, 1947 Lucy Mae was born to Julius Jones and Georgia Lee Jones in Sommerville, Tennessee. She passed away from a sudden illness on May 16, 2020.

Mrs. Lucy Mae Taylor lived in Rockford, IL and worked as a home health care provider. She was a sweet mother of the neighborhood. She loved to help others and was always providing help whenever she could. Lucy was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford. Lucy loved fellow-shipping and praising God. 
Lucy always meet you with a smile on her face, and you could feel the love with her smile and laughter. She loved to cook for her family, especially for her grandchildren. Lucy loved teaching her grandchildren how to cook, sew, clean, and to follow your dreams. She feed many and anyone who was in need of feeding. With a joyful heart Lucy brought laughter, love, encouragement, comfort, and mothering to all. She was always the glue holding the family together. Always a pillar of strength for the family and friends. A true hero who always dreamed of being a nurse. 

Lucy leaves to cherish her memories: husband John O. Taylor Sr. Rockford IL, one daughter Doris E. (David) Hildreth, five sons Antonio (Tamara) Hobson, Pernell (Sherquenia) Hobson, Daniel Johnson of Rockford IL, Timothy (Rochelle) Hobson of Fairview Heights IL , Bryan (Danielle) Hobson of Grove City, Ohio; one stepson John (Rachael) Taylor Jr. of Melbourne, FL; one step daughter Earline Parker of Milwaukee, WI.  15 grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren. Three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; ten sisters, Lucinda Allen of Bolivar, TN;  Ora Perry of Crawfordville, AR; Joanna Jones of Brownsville, TN; Edna Lee Crews (Albert) of Memphis, TN; Pearlie Davis of Indianapolis, IN; Julie Ann Morris, Easter Beasley of Decatur, IL; Edna Pauline Heard of Whiteville, TN; Sally (Melvin) Rhodes of Sommerville, TN; Gloria Jones of Decatur, IL.  a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.  Best friend Antoinette Coleman Beasley and special friends Venita Hester and Forristine Barr.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Shirley Brenton, and three brothers, Charlie L. Jones, George Jones, and Ollie Jones.  Also her son Gregory Hobson.
