Celebrating the Life of Lois Ann Starks
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18
Lois Ann Starks, affectionately known as Ann, was born in Rosedale, Mississippi, to the loving parents of Floria Lee Starks and Louis Marquis Williams. Ann attended Marshal High School, where she completed her education and graduated.
Ann was a woman with a joyful spirit and a personality that could light up any room. She worked a few small jobs throughout her life, but due to her asthma, she was not always able to work for long periods of time. Still, Ann carried herself with strength, love, and a beautiful sense of joy that touched everyone around her.
Ann married Kenneth Wordlaw, the love of her life, in 2006. Together, they shared a special bond rooted in love, companionship, and devotion. In 1998, they welcomed their daughter, Shontrice Starks, and from the beginning, there was an immediate and beautiful bond between them. Kenneth is left behind to mourn her memory and cherish the love they shared.
Ann was truly the life of the party. She loved to dance, laugh, listen to music, and enjoy the people around her. She brought bright energy, loud laughter, and a special warmth wherever she went. Ann had a way of making people laugh those good belly laughs, whether she was sharing an inside joke, enjoying music, or simply being herself. Her love for dancing and laughter reflected the beautiful way she lived: with joy, personality, and a heart full of life.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kenneth Wordlaw; her children, Latrice Starks, Donte Starks, Timothy Starks, and Shontrice Starks; her grandchildren, Abreon Starks and Tierra Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Abreon Starks Jr. and Amina Starks; her sisters, Lenora Starks, Nicole Starks, and Tabitha Starks; her brother, James Starks; along with many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Ann is surrounded in eternal rest by her mother, Floria Lee Starks, and her father, Louis Marquis Williams.
Ann's laughter, dancing spirit, and unforgettable personality will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
