Latonya M. Whitfield

Latonya M. Whitfield was born on February 05, 1983 to Yvette Whitfield and Mike Covington in Elgin, Illinois. Latonya was born a twin.

Latonya attended Elgin High School and in 2003, she moved to Rockford, Illinois. She was a very respectful, kind hearted, outspoken, family oriented woman that loved to cook and clean. She also had an abundance of positive energy, an infectious smile and a love for making people laugh. She brought so much light into the lives of her loved ones.

Latonya departed this life on June 10, 2021 at Swedish America Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
Latonya was loved and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Latonya was preceded in death by her Grandmother, Alvestine Whitfield and Aunt, Denise Whitfield.

Latonya leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Yvette Whitfield and step father, Michael Vavrina of Hampshire, Illinois; Seven children: Preshette, Ta’Million, Jer’Marrion, Ja’Mari, Ky’Ozmir, Loyalty, and Majesty: One Grandson, Marquez Hollingshed Jr; her twin sister Latoya Whitfield of Rockford, Illinois; four nieces: Kalia, Anta’Nijah, D’Anaya, Zariah; three nephews: Keith, Derik, Lamar; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
