Josephine Shivers

Josephine "Jo" Shivers of Rockford, IL, departed this earthly life on July 9, 2024. She was born on June 1,1933, in Sunflower, Mississippi to the late Gertrude Eithel Harris and Henry Davis.

She graduated in Mississippi and worked at Green Giant for a few years. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Johnny Shivers. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and auntie.

Josephine leaves behind great memories that will always be cherished, just as the loving, caring person she was. Josephine loved to cook, fish, and grow her garden, spending time with family and friends and nurturing others... As she would help others and give her last, and she would say, " I will do so."
 
Leaving to cherish many loving and fond memories are her daughters; Angel Simpson, Kathy Shivers, and Rebecca Moore, Sons; George Davis, Eugene Shivers, 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren,  and a host of niece's nephews, relatives, and friend's.
 
Josephine was predeceased by her parents, sisters,
Mary Tillman, Gertrude McCraley,  Joanna Tillman,
Brother's; Henry Davis Frank Davis, and two Sons; Sammy Shivers, Johnny Shivers.
