Johnny Johnson Obituary

Johnny Ray Johnson
Born October 6, 1963
Departed October 14, 2024

Johnny Ray Johnson was born to George Henigan, Jimmie Henigan, and Harry Lindsey, all of whom preceded him in death. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age, singing faithfully in the church choir under the leadership of Pastor Willie Randolph. Johnny Ray’s faith was strong, and he knew the Word of God well, spending much of his time studying the Bible.

He attended Howland Elementary School, Hess Upper Grade Center, and later graduated from Collins High School. Music was a central part of Johnny Ray’s life; his favorite band was The Eagles, and he especially loved the song Hotel California. His favorite TV shows were Gunsmoke and Perry Mason.

Johnny Ray had a heart of gold. He loved to laugh, share stories, dance, and play his “invisible guitar.” Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Johnny Ray leaves behind loving memories with his daughters, LaQuita Barnett and Johnetta Johnson; his beloved partner, Lisa Barnett; his grandchildren: Brianna Barnett, Kennedy Roberts, Messiah Roberts, Javion Johnson, Jayden Johnson, and Jakiem Lomaa; his three brothers, Steven Johnson (wife, Carol Johnson), Eddie Johnson, and Bobby Henigan (wife, Shanna Henigan); and his sister, Dorothy Henigan Ponton (husband, Durwin Porten) and Antionette Henigan.

He is also survived by his aunts, Sadie, Hazel, Graython, Deloris, and Ophila; his uncles, Jessie, Arthur, Albert, and David; two special aunts, Dora Deheart and “Mama Lou”; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.
