It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John "Russell" White, who left us peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Russell was a devoted man who loved God, his family, and music, in that order. His deep faith guided him throughout his life, bringing comfort and strength not only to him but also to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Russell cherished his family above all else, dedicating his life to nurturing and supporting them. He was a loving husband, caring father, and doting grandfather. His warm presence and kind spirit will be profoundly missed by those fortunate enough to call him family.
Russell worked various jobs that he thrived in being recognized and awarded for his work ethic. But to know him is to know that he was an avid music lover. Russell found joy in melodies and rhythms, and playing the bass was his love. Often sharing this passion with friends and loved ones as well as his students at Booker Community Center. Whether he was playing an instrument or simply enjoying a song, his enthusiasm for music was infectious and brought people together in celebration.
Russell's legacy of love, faith, and music will continue to resonate forever. Although he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris White, daughter Antionette Bondurant, parents Joel and Lorraine White, his siblings Joel White Jr. (Mickey), Felicia Pryor and Sonia Johnson (Toni)
