Jim Mack Taylor III September 3, 1971 – March 5, 2026
Jim Mack Taylor III departed this life on March 5, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1971, in Cochran, Georgia, to the late Jim Mack Taylor Sr. and Doris Busby.
Jim worked for MGF before its closing and later worked at Rockford Heat Treat before moving to Georgia. After returning in 2011, he was employed at Subway as a manager before his passing.
Jim attended Berean Baptist Church and school and later received his GED. He enjoyed playing darts for Allied Games and spending time with friends. Jim was also known as a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan who loved following his team.
Jim will be remembered for his personality, his love for family, and the friendships he built throughout his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Jaurice Taylor and Mercades Jefferson; and four grandchildren: Zah’riah Taylor, Na’Layah Williams, Kassius, and Khloie Woodard. Also cherishing his memory is the mother of his children, Scarlett Jefferson.
Jim is also survived by seven sisters: Cheryl Taylor, Stacy (Al) Collins, Tara Moses, Michelle Brown of Cochran, Georgia, Cassandra Brown of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Tammy Brown of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Loraine Layne of Columbus, Ohio.
He is survived by eight brothers: Anthony Taylor of Delavan, Wisconsin; Wilbert Taylor of Rockford,IL ; Andrew (Felicia) Gilbert of Moultrie, Georgia; Jim Taylor; Mack (Sherry) Taylor; Travis Taylor; Bradley (Shanlonnia) Taylor of Cochran, Georgia; and Shawtavius Brown of Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Jim also leaves two aunts, Tommie Jean Killings of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Bernell Hobes of Warner Robins, Georgia; and one uncle, Richard (Antonia) Busby of Minnesota.
He shared a special bond with his best friend, Timothy King. He also leaves a special niece and nephew, Kianna Rozier and Anthony Hansel; special cousins Michelle Busby and Eugene Holliman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Mack Taylor Sr. and Doris Busby; one brother, Jim Mack Johnson; as well as four aunts and four uncles.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
