Jeray Ni’Jule Whitaker, 17, of Dallas, TX departed this world on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in Rockford, IL, surrounded by his family and friends. Jeray was born on July 8, 2005 in Rockford, IL to Jessica Whitaker and Marcus Davis.
Jeray was the life of the party and always made friends no matter where he went. He professed his faith in Christ and was baptized in 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church. As a young boy Jeray fell in love with dancing. Jeray A.K.A Stewie won first place in the Levings Lake Talent Contest at the age of three and continued to dance everywhere he went from then on. At the age of ten Jeray moved to Dallas and decided to play basketball. He joined the North Dallas Panthers Organization who treated him more like family than a player. Everyone started calling him Ray Ray and he was known for his shooting skills. His favorite thing to do was shooting half court shots. He would be outside for hours trying to come up with new moves or crazy shots. In September of 2022 Jeray came to visit Rockford to spend a few months with his grandparents and father side of family.
