Today we gather here to celebrate and carry on the legacy of James Rodgers Jr. James graced Blytheville, Arkansas, on August 2,1964, born to James Rodgers, Sr. and Magnolia James. At an Early age James was baptized at Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church. James graduated from Nash Elementary School and later graduated from Austin Community High School. James worked as a janitor for many years. He loved family gatherings, playing cards, dancing and fishing.
James departed this life on March 6, 2025, at home in Rockford, IL. James was preceded in death by his father; James Rodgers, Sr., Mother, Magnolia James, Brothers: Roosevelt McBride, Johnny James, and a sister: Donna Jones, both Paternal and Maternal Grandfathers: Leroy Rodgers and Herman McBride, Sr., both Maternal and Paternal Grandmothers: Elnora McBride and Lucille Rodgers, Aunties: Bretha Williams and Tecora McBride, Four Uncles: John McBride, Herman McBride, Jr., William McBride, and Lester McBride, Two Nieces: Latanya R McBride, Terry’a M. Adams.
James leaves to cherish his memories: His four sisters; Girthtrue (Frank) Lockett, Pearlie (Eddie) Dyes, both of Chicago, Illinois, Shirley (Wayne) Jones of Rockford, Illinois, Ella (James) Wells of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Three Brothers, Larry Rodgers, Charlie W. Rodgers, both of Chicago, Illinois; Louis Jones, Jr. of Rockford, Illinois, Two aunts, Charlene McBride, Lena McBride both of Clinton, Maryland; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
