James (Buddy) Gainer Pullins, 85, of Rockford, Illinois, departed this earthly life on Friday, April 19, 2024. James was born May 16, 1938 in Dublin, Georgia to the late Dolus Daniel Pullins, Sr and Willie Kate Pullins. He was raised in Dublin, Georgia and moved to Rockford, Illinois in 2021. James moved in with his sister, Betty Hobson, so she could help care for him.
James was a protector of his siblings and helped a lot of people with his plumbing skill and expected nothing in return. He really had a very caring heart for others. He worked for the city of Dublin in the Sanitation Department for many years. James was the custodian at his church, Zion Hope Church of God in Christ.
He received the Lord as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Zion Hope. He was a comedian and humorous as he mimic others.
Buddy also loved to play the Harmonica and the piano.
James leaves to cherish his memories; brothers Dolus Daniel Pullins Jr, ( Chicago) Elder Johnnie Frank (Jackie)Pullins, (Winnebago,Il), Elder Roosevelt (Ruby) of Gary, Ind., Rudolph Pullins (of Rockford, Il), sisters;
Betty Lois Pullins(Major) Hobson of Rockford, Il and Willie Mae Pullins of (Chicago) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Pullins (Albert) Brazen, Katherine Evelyn Pullins; maternal grandparents, Frank and Lois Harris; paternal grandparents, James G and Georgia Ann Pullins.
