James Albert Moore, 74 died unexpectedly at home in Rockford from natural causes on October 14, 2023. James is a son of Homer Blackman Moore Sr., and Annie Mae (Jeter) Moore, born January 6, 1949 in Rockford.
James attended Auburn high school and studied at Shawnee University. He also completed cosmetology school. James is a baptized member of the Beacon of light SDA church. James never married.
Survivors left to cherish his memories are his daughters: Mary (John) Worley, of Sterling and Eve more of Rockford; his son, James Moore, Jr; his brothers: Homer B. Moore, Jr; or Racine, Joseph (Jeanette) Moore of Lancaster, Ca; Mark (Vanessa) Williams of Fort Collins, Co; his sisters; Nancy (Herbert) Hawthorne, and Jean Moore, both of Rockford; Shirley Waller, and Wendy (Don) Bishop of Oklahoma City, Ok; and Mary Ann Moore of Hamburg, Arizona; seven grand children, Brittney Worley, John Michael Worley, Darius Hamilton, Ryan Duncan, Dontayvion Moore, Omarion Moore, and Ocean Strader; and one great grandchild, Bryar Miles; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
James was predeceased by his parents, his twin brother, John Moore and his brother Douglas Moore, and niece, Anna Williams,
James enjoyed reading his Bible fishing, playing dominoes, watching sports and westerns on the television. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held for James A. Moore at Collins in Stone Funeral Home, Saturday, October 28, visitation 10 AM to 12 noon. With services beginning at 12 noon Collins and Stone Funeral Home 128 S. 5th St., Rockford, IL.
