Howard Mancil Littleton, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, IL. Howard was born on June 17,1946 in Paris, TN to the late Christine Tharpe and the late Howard Mancil Littleton, Sr.
Howard was raised in Paris, Tennessee, and graduated in the class of ‘65 from Central High School. He attended Talladega College in Talladega. AL where he earned a B.S. degree in Health & Physical Education in 1969. From his marriage to Oma Olive, he had two daughters, Bridget LaSean Bowman and Sherrie Angelique Littleton.
In Paris, Howard was a member of Mt. ZionBaptist Church. During his years in high school, he was a very talented athlete. He was the high school quarterback and a basketball standout. He continued his basketball career at the college level.
Howard’s memory will live on in the loved ones he leaves behind, including: his two daughters, Bridget L. Bowman and Sherrie A, Littleton, Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren, Jeremy D. Williams and Jalen S. Bowman of Las, Vegas, NV, Darrien D. Madison of Los Angeles, CA and Taylor Bowman of Baton Rouge, LA; his three sisters Deborah Hutcherson and Donna Tharpe of Paris, TN and Martha Appleton of Huntsville, AL; his brothers, Cornelius Littleton of Crockett, TX and American Morris of Fairbault, Minnesota;an aunt, Waynie Puckett and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Howard is preceded in death by his parentsHoward Mancil Littleton, Sr., Christine and Herman Tharpe; one sister, Linda Ann Moore; two brothers, Alvis Lee Littleton and Ray Austin Littleton;
aunts, Grace Littleton Haynes, Flora Littleton Black, Reubena Littleton Jackson, BurnadineLittleton, Helen Tharpe, Maybelle House, Lillie House, and Della Morris; uncles, Aquilla, Ossie, and Thomas Littleton, Ham Tharpe, Robert House, Sr., William Morris, Sr., and James House.
