Hershel Sockwell

Hershel Dean Sockwell 65 born December 19, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas; the son of Napoleon and Ruthene Sockwell.  Hershel attended West High School; later becoming employed at the Rockford Quaker Oats.  Hershel excepted Christ his Savior in March of 2014.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Hershel has a very special granddaughter who was dear to his heart.  She was his personal P.A. always showing love and truly caring for her "papa" with very great care.  He will always be watching over you.  Hershel was known for dressing and wearing nice hats.  You would always see Hershel coming weather it was by bus or walking Hershel was always there to visit family and friends. 

Hershel leaves to cherish many memories two daughters, Nicole Graham and Deana Martin; two sons, Milik Graham and Hershel "Pooh" Graham; four brothers, James Curtis (Rosemary) Sockwell, Marvin Napoleon Jr. and Nate (Wanda) Sockwell, three sisters, Loretta Dawn-Graham, Carletta and Karen Sockwell.  14 grandchildren, 1 special granddaughter A'Vae McFadden; and a host of of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives, friends, including a special cousin Gary Hopson.  

He was predeceased by both parents, Napoleon and Ruthene Sockwell; brother, Robert, and sister, Glenda Sockwell.
