Glenda M. Iverson died on Sunday, December 8th at Swedish American Hospital after a year and a half battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1956, to Beulah & John Iverson.
Glenda was born and raised in Rockford, IL and she attended Auburn High School. One month before her 18th birthday, Glenda gave birth to her one and only child, Juanine. Looking for a better way and life for her child, Glenda started studying the bible and in 1980 she was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness. She loved Jehovah dearly as was shown through her words and actions. Even in her last days of stage IV lung cancer, you would hear her say “Don’t worry, Jehovah got me.”
Glenda had various jobs throughout her life with her longest tenures being Bergner’s Warehouse, William Dennis School lastly, Chrysler where she retired in 2008.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Eric Iverson (the 4th child out of 9). Glenda leaves to cherish many loving memories to her only child- daughter Juanine, her siblings (Johnetta, Margaret, Curtis, Verrizonia, Hal, Carolyn, and Lavarne Iverson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially best friend (Priscilla Thompson).
A special thanks to the West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses as they helped so much in the last months of Glenda’s Life. Thank You! I’d also like to thank the Williams family (Cynthia and Darletta) you came through like champs during my time of bereavement.
