Emmett Pryor

    Emmett Marvin Pryor was born on September 6, 1950 to Marvin Pryor and Jessie Mae Pryor in Pine Bluff,Arkansas. He attended Townsend Park School System in Pine Bluff, AR and graduated in 1968. He studied at the University of  Arkansas Fayetteville before he left for a mentorship program in Beloit, Wisconsin. He worked at the Beloit and Rockford area Facilities  for many years. Also, he worked at Rockford School System #205 as a bus driver which fostered his desire for community service and involvement. He served as a dedicated deacon,soloist for the choir, van driver along with other faithful assignments at the Providence Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois for numerous years.

        He leaves to cherish his memory with his sons Emmett Dewayne Cannon of  Beloit, WI, and Paul Kenneth Cannon and Maxine Cannon daughter-in-law of Satellite Beach, Florida, grandchildren  Josiah, Mekhi Horton, Paul Jr., Nadja Keen, and Kennedy Cannon. His siblings and family members are Vincent Pryor and Sandra Pryor sister-in-law of Pine Bluff, AR, Walter Pryor and Juliette Pryor sister-in-law of Atlanta, GA, Eileen Hammond Little Rock, AR, Jacquie Pryor of Pine Bluff, AR, Lisa Devoe of Houston, TX, Delois Jones and Derrick Jones Sr brother-in-law of Olive Branch, Mississippi. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins from various states which  includes Hawaii,Florida,California, Texas, Mississippi, and friends from the Alden Park Strathmoor Rehabilitation Center and a special thanks to the staff at the facility.
