Eddie Leach Obituary

Eddie Tyrone Leach of Rockford, Illinois, departed this earth on November 21, 2024, at OSF Medical Center. He was born on January 20, 1951, to Willie Irene Leach.

Eddie was a dedicated member and practiced ministry at Campbell Chapel AME Church in Atkinson, Kansas, where he practiced his faith for many years. He loved being surrounded by family and friends, bringing joy through his singing, dancing, and, most notably, his humor. Eddie was the life of the party, always keeping everyone laughing with his jokes and charismatic personality.

Eddie leaves behind cherished memories with his wife, Dorothea Lang Leach, his children: Yolanda, Crystal, and Michael Leach; grandchildren: Alonzo Leach, Seymone, and Kamaria Leach; brother, Jessie Leach; sisters: Ernestine Leach, Mary Ann (Doe) Leach, Iola (Vicky) Leach, Elizabeth Blanton, Mattie Horton, and Sheila Zerouli; his aunts, Della House, Lavon Hawkins and Ruby Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Leach; sisters: Christine Leach, Lorraine Leach, and Debra Pelley; his brothers, Anthony Leach, Joseph Leach, and Michael Currie; aunts Rhode Simmons, Mildred Simmons, Vessie Harris, and Leola Autman; uncle, Henry Williams; and the mother of his children, Bonnie Birch.

Eddie will be fondly remembered for his vibrant spirit, love of life, and his ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
