Obituary

Duane Thomas McGee passed away March 17, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. 

Duane was born February 3, 1970 to Christine (McGee) Roby  and Johnny Penix in Rockford, IL. He graduated from Guilford Highschool and pursued Masters Degrees in Psychology and Sociology at Rock Valley College and Northern Illinois University. He was married to Shawn (Nordin) McGee on February 14, 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his four children Zachary McGee, Skye McGee, Tre McGee, and Savontae McGee. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Xavier McGee, Kahari McGee, and Kyrie McGee. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoyed cooking. He was also a strong role model to nephew James Dixon.

He was proceeded in death by many beloved family members. 

He is survived by his parents Christine and Joe Roby; children Zachary (Rhea) McGee, Skye McGee, Tre McGee, and Savontae McGee; and grandchildren Xavier McGee, Kahari McGee, and Kyrie McGee. He also leaves behind a sister Christine McGee as well as many cherished family members and friends. 

A memorial will be held at Collins and Stone on April 2, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
