In God’s perfect timing, Deborah Lester, age 63, made her transition to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in her home. Deborah was born on August 22, 1957 in Natchez, Mississippi to Lula Mae Bates Galloway and later adopted and raised by Rev. Leonard E Green Sr. and Mary Lou Green. Deborah graduated from Auburn High School and attended Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Deborah accepted Christ as a young child and worked summers in the church office where her father pastored. She always had a servant heart. She worked for the Winnebago County State’s Attorney Juvenile Department and for the Rockford Housing Authority as a housing manager. Deborah served and was dedicated for over 20 years in ministry in church administrative capacity. She accepted her call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, lived what she preached, served unto the Lord, and she always said she was living the life she loved and loving the life she lived. Deborah was a member of Church of the Harvest International where she served as an Elder. She was also the Executive Administrator at COTHI and NRMinistries.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her 2 children: Toya (Pastor LW III) Bolton of Alliance, OH and Tiara Green of Toledo, OH. 8 Grandchildren, Toni, Talayia, Antonio Jr (King), Tommiee, and 4 Foster Grandboys. 2 brothers Charles Benard of MS, and Arthur “Mac” Johnson of MI; 5 sisters Vera Brooks, Betty (George) Glass, Kathryn “Cat” Huggins, all of Michigan, Ethel (Samuel) Johnson of MS, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Galloway of CA. A host of nieces and nephews, godchildren, very special friends, special nephews Sonny Harris and Johnny Huggins.
Elder Deborah Lester was preceded in death by her father Rev. Leonard E Green Sr, her mother Mary Lou Green, brothers Edward “Billy” Lott, Leonard Green Jr, John “JD” Green and sister Fannie Harris.
