Corene Hearns

Corene Glover was born April 12, 1933 in Vicksburg, MS to Leonard and Corine Glover.  Corene attended Vicksburg Public School System.  In 1942 Corene's family moved to Rockford, IL where she attended Rockford Public Schools.  She later met ad married Thomas Lumpkins, to this union four children were born.  In 1959 Thomas passed away.  Corene decided to further her education, she attended Judson University in Elgin, IL and received her Nursing degree.  Putting that degree to work she was employed by st. Anne Nursing Home, Rockford Memorial Hospital, Swedish American Hospital and various other nursing facilities.  Corene was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Robert Hearns Sr. in 1970  they were married for forty years when he preceded her in death.  Corene was a founding member of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.  Her favorite son was "This Old Building Keeps on Leaning", her favorite passage of scripture was the 23rd Pslams.  

Corene departed this life on Thursday, May 29, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lumpkins and Robert Hearns Sr.; two daughters, Edith M. Lumpkins, Annette Lumpkins Ashford; one son, Larry C. Lumpkins; eleven siblings, mother and father Leonard and Corine GLover; she leaves to cherish her memories tow sons, Rev. Gerald (Sylvia) Lumpkins, Marcus Ashford Hearns, many grand children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and freinds.
