Clarisse Thornton

Clarisse Thornton- Byars 59, of Rockford, IL made her transition on May 8, 2021, at home peacefully in her sleep. Clarisse was born January 5, 1962 in Chicago, IL to Evelyn Kendricks and Jerome Howard Thornton ( who proceeded her in death). 

Clarisse was the last of 6 children. She attended Raster Elementary ( Chicago) and William Harper High School ( Chicago). Clarisse became a mother to four of her own heartbeats; Partenia L. Thornton, Phillip L. Thornton ( who proceeded her in death), Monique L. Thornton, and Monica L. Thornton all of which she loved in her own special way. 

Later in life she met and married her soulmate, the love of her life, Roland Byars ( who proceeded her in death). From that union she and Roland shared a “ special child” as they would call their dog, KAPONE. 

She leaves to cherish her loving and devoted children Partenia ( Picasso), Monique ( Richard) and Monica Thornton. Her mother Evelyn Kendricks, her siblings, Andre ( Annette), Howard and Darrell ( both proceeded her in death), Tyrone ( Wanda), Charisse ( Johnny) her 10 grandchildren, Kamaria, Precious, Diamond, Dayviair, Maryiah, Naperrial, NaQuann, Lazarion, Elijah ( proceeded her in death) and La’Cyiah. Three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both just and unjust.
