Clara Mangruem Obituary

Ms. Clara Mae Mangruem departed this earthly life peacefully on May 16, 2026.  She went home to be with her heavenly father and all her family that departed this earth.

Clara came into this world on December 17, 1950, in Huntsville, Alabama.  She is the daughter of Tommie and Rosie Mae Mangruem.  Clara relocated to Rockford with her family in 1968.  Clara was a homemaker for her three sons and her family members.  She was a faithful member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.  Clara loved the Lord and served selflessly for many years.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends.  You could count on Clara to cook something special that we all loved and enjoyed together.  She was kind, caring and always selfless.  Clara loved everyone and opened her heart and home to many throughout the years.  Her passion was worshipping and serving the Lord.  She loved to sing, dance and laugh as much as possible.  Her Joy will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Shon Mangruem, Quincy Mangruem and Thomas Mangruem Sr. along with her special Grandchildren, Naomi, Thomas Jr., Shon Mangruem Jr. and Isaiah

She has a special place for her honorary grandson, Noah Lottie.  She leaves her brothers, Henry Mangruem Sr. (Mary), Robert, David, and Carl (Sandi) Mangruem.  Her sisters, Addie Mangruem and Sharrion Mangruem.  She leaves a host of nieces and nephews that all hold a special place in her heart.  She cherished all of them and held a special place in her heart for Calvin Mangruem Jr., who took care of Clara while she was ill.  Her honorary daughters, Jessica Rosario and Marquetta Rosario.

Clara is predeceased by her parents, Tommie and Rosie Mangruem along with her siblings, Betty Bilberry, Bobbie Joe Mangruem, Johnnie Lee Mangruem, Donnie Mangruem, Albert Mangruem and Calvin Mangruem Sr (Danelle).

Clara’s kindness and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
