Christine Conkling

Christine Conkling 92 of Chicago, IL departed this earthly life July 21, 2020. 

Christine was born January 16th 1928 in Memphis TN to Daisy and Elijah Evans. She grew up in Chicago IL and in her later years she relocated to Rockford IL. 

Christine attended Mount Goshen Full Gospel Baptist church where she served on the mother's board. Christine worked as a machine operator at Sundstrand Aviation.

Christine leaves to cherish her memories two daughters Terry Conkling, Jamia Conkling. Seven grandchildren Ariella Jones, Michelle Denwiddie, Merida Smith, Melvin Bell, Milo Denwiddie, Ebony Denwiddie, Diana Griffin Angelique Denwiddie. Three Goddaughters. Iroctayna Gulley, Sequoya McGrone, Shanteya McGrone. Three great grandchildren Kenshawn Denwiddie, Precious Gist, Joy Denwiddie-Moore. A host of nieces and nephews, and great -great grandchildren. A very special friend Lee Schauer. She was predecased by her husband Robert Conkling. Her parents Daisy Evans, Elijah Evans. Her son Melvin Denwiddie. Two sisters Odessa Jones, Sophronia Evans. One brother Elijah Evans Jr.
