Bobby Chapman

Bobby “Bob” Chapman departed his earthly life on December 10, 2025. Born on July 18, 1945 in Hickory, Mississippi to Faro Chapman and Ruthie Mae Chapman.

Bob attended school in Hickory, Mississippi before moving to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1966. Bob relocated to Rockford, Illinois in 1968 where he reunited with his childhood love Dorothy Chapman. They were married June 7, 1969. Bob was a forklift driver at Gunite Foundry for 33 years before retiring in 2001. Bob was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. There was never a dull moment with him around. From his stories about Mississippi, Gunite, or just his everyday smart comments. He was the life of all family gatherings. “ To know him was to love him”.

He leaves his cherished memories to his wife of 56 years ; Dorothy Chapman, Daughters; Bobbi Chapman, DelShunda Chapman, Son; Tori Chapman, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 4 sisters, Johnny Christine Doby, Carylon Hanna, Louise Mangruem, Cathrine (Randolph) Cole. In-laws who surpassed in law status; Otha ( Sharron) Ford, Larry (Doris) Ford, Rubia Ford, Daphane Ford, Linda (James) Tillman, Marion Ford, Billy (Melody) Ford, James (Barbara) Ford, Earnestine Ford, Larry (Doris) Williamson, Clarice Chapman. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sisters; Mittie and Betty Jean, Brothers; Cliff, Faro, Harvey Chapman, Grandson; Chearyl Chapman
