Beverly Thompson departed this earthly life on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the age of 75. She was born to John H. and Dorothy M. Thompson on July 20,1949 in Rockford, IL.
Beverly was a vibrant and charismatic soul from the very beginning. She graduated from Auburn High School and Rock Valley College. After completing her education, at the age of 19, she boldly ventured west to California, where she pursued her dreams with unwavering determination. She embraced her passion as a hair stylist, eventually opening her own successful hair salon, “Beverly for Hair”. This was a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication.
Beverly was a long-life learner, continuously striving for personal and professional growth. Her tenacity and independence inspired everyone around her. Beyond her remarkable career, she was a woman of deep faith, following the example set by her loving mother. She walked through life with grace and humility, guided by her trust in God. Her legacy is one of love, strength and an enduring commitment to living life on her own terms.
She is survived by her brother, Sanford Thompson, sister, Stacey Thompson, 3 nieces, Andrea Cates of Atlanta, Crystal Person and Raven Thompson of Rockford, 2 nephews, Kriston Thompson, Jemar Milsap of Rockford, 13 great nieces and nephews and 15 great, great nieces and nephews. A very special nephew and son, Martel (Pre) Ford and Martel Jr. Ford. A special family friend, Cheryl Klavenga.
Beverly is predeceased in death by her parents, John H. and Dorothy Thompson, brothers, Billie, Cedric, Kevin Thompson and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
