Beulah Tripplett Obituary

Beulah M. Tripplett, 68, transitioned to her heavenly Father's home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 after a long and courageous battle. Beulah was born on November 11, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois, and she was the eldest daughter of the late William and Beola Tripplett.

Beulah graduated from West High School and Rockford Business College. She was previously employed at W.F. & John Barnes, and G.C. Thorsen. She later retired from the Rockford Housing Authority after 25 years of service.

Beulah was a dedicated member of Gomez Chapel A.M.E., where she faithfully served as a Church Clerk Secretary and Steward for many years under the leadership of Reverend Fred Lambert. Beulah was elected as alternate delegate two consecutive times to attend the A.M.E. General Conference in Tennessee (2012) and Pennsylvania (2016).

Beulah touched the lives of many while working at the Rockford Housing Authority and always spoke fondly and lovingly of her “girls”, whom she mentored through the Family Magic Program. Beulah will be remembered as the family matriarch and historian. Many will also miss receiving her loving advice and sound wisdom. Beulah enjoyed shopping, high-end fashion, a great bargain, and spending time with her family. Beulah was known for planning the “annual girls family birthday trips” and served as Co-President of the Rockford Family Reunion Chapter.

Beulah is survived by her only daughter, Anissa' (Curtis) Jones; two grandsons: Curtis Oliver Jones, Jr. and Austin William Jones of Chicago, Illinois; siblings: William (Carolyn) Tripplett of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Oscar (Bessie) Tripplett of Rockford, Illinois, Camena Ferguson of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Michelle (William) Davis of Rockford, Illinois; aunts: Geneva Davis of Rockford, Illinois and Maggie Bolden of Memphis, Tennessee; uncle: Victory (Carol) Bell; and  very special nieces and nephews: Joseph, Areic, Khila, Shannon, Brandon, Jimi, TaVanna, Tyler and Chelsie.

Special Friends: Janie Anthony of Rockford, Illinois, Lenora Tripplett of Rockford, Illinois, John Dykes Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Renault Griffin of Chicago, Illinois and very special lifetime friend and sister, Joan Sturgis of Los Angeles, California.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: A.W.
