It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annice Knight, 70, who departed this life on January 18, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Annice was born on February 12, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, to Johnnie Gredger and Rose Jones. She spent her formative years in Rockford, Illinois, where she was lovingly raised by her aunt, Carrie Knight.
Annice was a vibrant spirit who touched the hearts of everyone she met. A dedicated student, she attended West High School and pursued her passion for beauty through a career as a licensed cosmetologist. Her commitment to caring for others led her to also become a certified Nursing Assistant, a role she embraced with both compassion and dedication for many years.
An avid reader, Annice found great joy in the pages of her Bible, drawing strength and inspiration from her faith. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends, always radiating warmth and love. Dancing was one of her greatest joys, a reflection of her lively spirit that will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
Annice leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by her three children: Carrie (Bobby) Dismuke, James Knight, and Canechia Knight. Her memory will also be carried on by her beloved grandchildren: Jarrell (Toya) Knight, Jatae Knight, Jacara Knight, Carl Knight, Bionca Knight, Laquaila Annice Knight, Devan Thurmond, Shaleya Knight, Delisha Howard, Javariese Knight, Jasia Knight, James Knight, Jianna Knight, and Jasi Knight, along with 21 great-grandchildren, including her precious great-grands Zyaire Knight, Naziya Knight, Khaleya Knight, Amari Howard, Damarion Brown, and Adonase Howard.
She is survived by her loving siblings: Ethel (Clifford) Woodfork, Fred Jones, and Lamont (Tamika) Jones, as well as her dear friend, Beverly Garrett, who provided unwavering support throughout her life.
Annice was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt Carrie Knight, her son Carl Knight, her granddaughter Tekeris Myles, and her brothers Otis and Edward Jones, along with her special friend Mr. Charles Huntley.
The family of Ms. Annice Knight would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Mercy Health Hospice for the love and care shown during their time of need. Words cannot express the profound appreciation for all they have done.
