Alvin Crawford

Alvin Johnson-Crawford of Rockford, IL departed this earthly life on February 23, 2022 of a short illness. Alvin was Born May 27, 1946 in Freeport,IL to the Union of Mrs. Joyce “ Mama Joyce” Pruitt formerly Johnson and Mr.Tommie Lee “TL” Johnson Sr.  

Alvin graduated top of his class from Freeport High School, he ran track for Freeport High as well as played clarinet for his school band as well his home church. He went to college and studied as a orderly and remained in that field for years before working in factories til he retired.

Alvin leaves behind to cherish his many loving memories his companion of 42 yrs Lillie Charles  his mother Joyce Johnson - Pruitt and three sisters, Annetta Pruitt, Vicky Johnson and DeWanda Johnson; one brother, Ricky Pruitt;  three sons, Alvin Ray Crawford, Michael Charles Jr and Calvin Johnson; one daughter, Tracy Crawford; and special grandsons, Dario Charles Sr, and great grandson, Dario Charles Jr., a special niece, Rachel; special nephew, Jovan Egan; special friends, Dewayne Polk, David Ishmon, Willie Key “”kiwi” Peanut, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. 

Alvin was preceded in death by his father Tommie Lee Johnson Sr; his brothers, Arnold Ray Johnson, andTommie Lee Johnson Jr.; one son, Mario Charles; one daughter Capricia Charles;  special friends, the late Wilbur T Graham, and Marvin Washington.
