Allen Clay, age 56 of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Sunday March 19,2023 of a short illness. Allen was born in Rockford on March 29,1966 to Emma Clay and Joe Harrington. Allen attended Auburn High School where Allen excelled at several sports, and after school activities. Allen was a jack of all trades, he could cook, clean, tend to the kids, and could fix anything, there was absolutely nothing Allen could not do. Whenever or wherever you seen Allen the one thing he carried with him was his big smile and a big heart. I do not care whatever the situaton he came with a smile first and a big heart second. Allen’s best accomplishments in life was and is his children.
Allen leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Emma Clay; two sisters, Tammy (Odell) Tidwell, Carolyn (Tony Dupree) Clay; children, Ashley Shontee White, Philkeshia Anthony , Nakisha Anthony, Jay Anthony, Keith Anthony, TriShida Horton, Devante Egan; special nephew, Thomas Brooks II; grandchildren, Tailynn, Adontae, Shane, Arian, Keith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Allen was predeceased in death by his father, Joe Harrington; Willie and Lillie Graham Maternal grandparents, Paternal grandparents Luther and grandmother, brothers Corneilous Clay, Curtis Williams, Joe Lewis Clay, Angela Clay, Vivienne Clay, Shinette Clay, Barbara Clay and soulmate, Phyllis (Shane) Horton.
