Lisa Harris-Jones transitioned peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018. Lisa was born on July 07, 1967 in Rockford, IL.

Lisa attended Jefferson High School in Rockford, IL, was a proud member of ROTC, and graduated in 1986. Lisa was an active member of the Jefferson ROTC program. Lisa worked in the Rockford community giving to others she enjoyed serving, caring, and assisting others in her work, community, and family. Lisa was always the one to offer comfort, support a kind word, and a laugh. Lisa was known to be a lively, hilarious, compassionate, deeply loving woman who touched the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Lisa enjoyed music, laughter, fun and her family.

Lisa loved her family and friends with a great passion. Lisa possessed a contagious personality, smile and an extraordinary sense of humor. Lisa brought joy and happiness to all in her company. Throughout her life she maintained a cheerful demeanor that won the hearts of everyone who came to know her. Lisa had the gift of joy, which shined through her smile, laughter, and fun spirit.

A loving mother and proud grandmother, is how she will always be remembered. Lisa was a cherished and adored mother to 3 devoted young men. Lavelle D. Jones, Loren D. Jones Sr. and Maurice D. Jones. Lisa was a beloved and devoted GiGi (Grandmother) to Loren Jones Jr. and Marijah Jones. Lisa’s grandchildren were her heart and time spent at GiGi's home was a special time for her grandchildren. Lisa was the beloved daughter of Marion Durham, (Charles), Ivory Jones (deceased), and E.J. Parham (Lou). Lisa was the dearest sister to Mark Jones-Chillicothe, IL, Donnie Mayes (Marie)-Spanaway, WA, Charyl Parham-Frye (Daniel)- Rockford, IL, and Angela Michele Jones (Patrick)-Rockford, IL. Lisa was wedded to Ricky Harris in 2015. Lisa was a special aunt to Tiera, Jai’Den, Alexandra, Eric, Andre, Jordan, Nacassia, Sharaya, Jaiden, Lil Daniel. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.

Lisa, we love you and will carry our warm memories of you in our hearts forever. Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
