Katie M. Hazelwood

Katie Mae Johnson Tate Hazelwood was born December 12, 1922 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Aaron and Emma Johnson. Katie was the third of seven child born of this union.  
She excepted Christ at an early age at the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. 

Katie was married to Eugene Tate Jr. at an early age and they had nine children in there thirteen years of marriage.  Later in life Katie remarried and had four more children.  Katie was a God fearing woman and dependent on her faith in God.  Katie was a chartered member of Jerusalem MB Church, under the leadership of the late Rev Namon Klines Sr., Katie served on the pastors committee faithfully.   

Katie leaves to cherish many loving memories six daughters, June Haliburton, Malverta Dawson, Eloise Brown, Gloria Harris, Sherri Tate, Janice Love; three sons, Eugene Tate III, James L. Tate, Rosiland Russell Tate; sister in law Christine Padgett; 67 grand children, 100 great grandchildren, 22 great great grand children; four great great great grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews and friends.
