Eula Ruth Carmichael-Day 79 of Rockford, Il departed this earthly life Thursday, December 08, 2016 in the home of her devoted and caring daughter, after a short illness.
Eula was born, to the union of Clarence and Cillar Day, on September 08, 1938 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She came to Rockford from Mississippi in 1965. She attended school in Mississippi. Eula was employed as an assembler for Carter Manufacturing, until she became disabled. She attended Christian Union Baptist Church for a brief time. Eula loved caring for her family and friends. Her favorite pastime enjoyment was playing slots. She had a great love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and close friends.
Eula leaves to cherish her precious memories, her devoted daughter and caretaker, VickyL. Carmichael; two sons, James (Gloria) Carmichael and Timothy (Joyce) Carmichael, both of Rockford; two sisters, Annie Boykins of Rockford and Ora Bell Fowler of Florida; one brother, C.L. Day of Rockford; two very special grandchildren, Timisha Carmichael and Antwyon Smith; Tracy Glover, whom she called her special daughter; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives; three special friends, Rose Brown, Christine Stevens, and Wille Mae (NeNe) Glover.
Predeceased by her parents; son, Eldred Green; daughter, Mary Carmichael; one sister and five brothers.
