Cynthia Marie Fort, age 52, of Rockford, Illinois departed this earthly life on May 1st, 2015 while being cared for at the Swedish American Hospital after a long illness. She was born on October 16, 1962 in Tallulah, Louisiana as the daughter of Claudine and James Bonney. She attended Kenwood High School and Rockford Business College. Cynthia went on to work for the Rockford Clinic as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years.

Cynthia accepted Christ at an early age. She was devoted, faithful and dedicated to both the Lord and her community. Her smile was contagious and she loved to dance. Cynthia believed that in all thy ways we must give God the glory and honor and that it is he whom will direct our path. She met and married Gary Fort, and with this union, two loving children were born, Ronald and Lonnie Fort. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and by her mother in law Hattie Mae Fort with whom she shared a special bond. She leaves to mourn; her husband Gary Fort, and two sons Lonnie and Ronald Fort, her two sisters, Neada Hunt from Sacramento, CA, Monica (Bernardo) DeJesus of Warner Robins, GA, three brothers Eddie (Hope) Bonney from Lansing, MI, Rocky (Barbie) Bonney from Chicago, IL, and Gary Bonney from Sacramento, CA, special friends Julie, Shawn, Ms. P, Sharonae and childhood friend Dorothy Gray, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
