Annie Gilbert Obituary


Annie Lee Allen-Gilbert was born on January 08, 1931 in Indianola, Missisiippii to father Albert Wilson and mother Lulabella Jones-Wilson.  Annie Lee Gilbert attended school in Sycamore, IL.  She married Milton Allen in May 31, 1953. To this union five children were born. He preceded her in death. She later married Dr. Rev. E.H.E. Gilbert Sr.
She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church for  many years.  She was a Deaconess and past President of Lydian Women.  Annie also played the piano at some evening and communion services.  Annie was a past Rockford NAACP member.  


Annie L. Gilbert leaves to cherish her memory four children: daughters, J Vicki (Gale) Richard of Kalamazoo, MI; Kei (Nathaniel) Bryant of Marietta, GA.; sons, Craig Lee Allen of Atlanta, GA., Patrick Shawn Allen of Houston, TX and stepson, Eldridge E.H.E. (SKIP) Jr. (Paulette) Gilbert of Rockford, IL., one sister, Rosie Lee Farrar of Rockford, IL., one son in law, Shawn Hill and special friend, Eloise Jones and Mrs. Letha Adams both of Rockford, IL., fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grand children and host of other relatives and the Pilgrim Church Family.


Predeceased by her husband, Dr. Rev E.H.E. Gilbert Sr., one daughter, Denise Hill; one sister, Odessa Wilson; both parents, Rev. I.W.F. Bess and Lula Bell Bess and great-grand parents, George and Ella Jones.
