Annie Belle Blandin was born June 9, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She later relocated to Chicago, IL to start her life journey. At age 23, Annie committed her life to Christ at New Hope Baptist  Church on Chicago’s south side. She later became a member of Greater Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in 1993 under the pastorate of the belated Reverend Jesse Strong.  Then she later joined Freedom a Church with out  Walls in  Rockford, IL  under the pastoral care of Pastor Herbert Johnson Jr.  On  Tuesday afternoon, 2 January 2018, just before sunset, while some slept and slumbered, Annie was called upon by GOD to return home and rest. We knew not the day nor hour, but one day GOD was going to need Annie more than we would. Annie was a loyal a dedicated dietician at Madden Mental Health Center in Hines, IL and worked diligently for 30 years serving. She loved the patients she fed and it brought her joy to drive to work everyday knowing that she would be of service.  Annie was a loving wife to K.C. Blandin (preceded her in death),  a great sister to (Nancy and May who both preceded her in death), a loving mother to (Olander who preceded her in death) and loving grandmother to Jermaine (who preceded her in death).  She leaves to mourn: her four children: Samuel, Sandra, Valrese,  and Chaundra (Kenneth). Her grandchildren: Thatisha,  Maryanna, Frances (Antwain), Michael, Darryl, Travis, Malik, Makiyah, Chloe, and Kendrick. Her great– grandchildren: Darionte, Mariah, Jaevon, Kenya, Trinity, and Jacquez. Her nieces: Angela, Sheila, Judy, Kim, and Shuanice. Her nephews: Jeffrey, Michasel, Tyrone, Eric, Vinnie, Scottie, and Jason. And a host of other great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Annie was known for her 4’ 11” stature, bold attitude, kind heart, and loving spirit. She always helped anyone she came in contact with and she wore her heart on her sleeve, but she was a Gemini and if you pissed her off,  she would read you your rights. She conquered many things in her 89 years she rose time after time from a brain aneurysm, 2 heart attacks, double by pass surgery, a stroke, cancer, copd and gangrene– But Still I Rise she would often say; nothing can hold me down. She was the epitome of a fighter.   Annie will always remain in the hearts and minds of her family and friends whom loved her and was touched by her in person or via social media. Her spirit and dedication will always be remembered.
